Care for Yourself in Relationship with Others
Relationships provide a sense of acceptance, love, and belonging. We learn about relationships from our parents, our siblings, our friends, our dating partners, our religious practices, and our society as a whole. Sometimes in trying to build and maintain relationships, we start to sacrifice and lose parts of ourselves to make the other person happy, to help the other person with their struggles, or to keep the relationship. Often this can lead to you feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, depressed, or desperate. With therapy, you can learn how to take care of yourself in relationships while still finding the acceptance, love, and belonging you want.
